কিছু কিছু মানুষ লাগে চেনা-চেনা,
অথচ হয়নি যে কখনো দেখা-শোনা;
হয়ত শুনেছি কণ্ঠস্বর কভু বাক-যন্ত্রে,
অথচ মুগ্ধতা খেলেছে প্রতি স্নায়ুতন্ত্রে।
কিছু কিছু মানুষ লাগে কেবলই অচেনা,
যদিও পরষ্পরে রয়েছে বেশ জানাশোনা;
কখনো বেরোলে বাক্য কিছু মুখ থেকে,
মনে হয়, ধরি সজোরে কণ্ঠ তার চেপে।
কিছু কিছু মানুষ সত্যিই অজানা অচেনা,
অথচ নাম শুনলেই মনে হয় আপনজনা;
পেলে হাতের কাছে ধরতাম জড়িয়ে দ্বিধাহীন,
অমলিন ভালোবাসা দিতাম যেচে তারে ঋণ।

Some people look familiar
but never seen and heard;
May have heard the voice in the speech-device
but fascination played on every nervous system.
Some people seem just strangers
Although they are quite familiar with each other;
Sometimes words come out of their mouths
feels to strangle their throat at once.
Some people are really unknown or strangers
but while hear the name, you think your own;
I would cuddle them tightly without hesitancy
I would have given them love like a debt.
