ভুলে ভরছে সোনার বাংলা
ভুলে ভরছে তার কণ্ঠ-রব,
স্তব্ধ আমি তাকিয়ে চারপাশ
ভুল বানানে পড়ছি সব।
ভুল বানানে পড়ছি বই
সাইনবোর্ড আর যত্তসব।
ছাত্র-শিক্ষক, সরকার, আমলা
মুখ বুজে সব রয়েছে নীরব।
কেউ মাখছে না গায়ে তা
ভুল বানানেই করছে গরব।
আহত নয়ন, আহত মগজ,
আহত বুকে বাজে ডুকরব!
করলে প্রতিবাদ ভাবে উন্মাদ
বাঁকা চোখে যায় এড়িয়ে;
কারে শোধাই আমার মনস্তাপ
কে দেবে কালোহাতে বেড়ী পরিয়ে!

Sonar Bangla is full of mistakes
Its voice is full of mistakes,
Stunned I looked around
I'm reading everything wrong.
Reading books with wrong spelling
Signboards and more.
Students-teachers, government, bureaucrats
Everyone is silent.
No one is taking it on
rather pride of spelling mistakes.
Injured eye, Injured brain,
Injured chest bad hurt-heart!
If you protest, you become crazy
they avoid you with crooked eyes;
who will listen to your anguish
Who will put on handcuff on black hands!
